National Twinshock Scramble Championships 2008
"Team Twinshock" from the GP of Lommel with our very good friend Chuck Sun
Latest Twinshock News National Twinshock Scramble Championships 2009 We hope you enjoyed the 2008 RDH Motorhome Centre National Twinshock Championships, and look forward to meeting up with riders old and new in 2009. Richard Wood of RDH has agreed to be our headline sponsor for the second year, and Jon Burrows of Burrows Haulage will again be sponsoring the Man of The Meeting awards at each round, both of which are really appreciated. Nearly all of our class sponsors have committed to the series, except Sammy Miller Products, but I would just like to thank Richard Jordan and Jackie Drake for their help over the last three years. We have currently pencilled in eight rounds for this year, with two clubs waiting in the wings should any club be unable to run their event. The opening round in 2009 returns to the North of England club who are running at Gale Common, just off the M62 at Selby in Yorkshire. As in 2008 we have a quick fire five rounds in the first 3 months, with a further four more in July, August and September. Please note that these dates have to be agreed with the clubs and landowners, so don’t go booking your holidays yet. There are plenty of phone calls to be made, to reach agreement as three of the provisional rounds are being run by new clubs to the twinshock scene. In order to keep your preferred riding number, you are asked to register before January 31, 2009. After this date your numbers may be allocated to new riders, so you have been warned. Lower numbers are likely to be kept by the regular riders though. Registration for the series has been pegged at £15, which entitles you to enter each event for £35 instead of the non registered riders fee of £45, which means by doing just two events saves you money. This money goes towards printing costs, as you will receive a copy of each entry form, event programmes, and to subsidise the annual trophies which are awarded at the end of season bash at the Moat House Hotel, Stoke, which has already been booked for Saturday, October 31, 2009. Following the AGM the class structure for 2009 is as follows; For those of you who are new to twinshock racing, the £15 registration fee allows you to score points in two championship classes for the end of season awards (One Twinshock class + Evo or Vets, or both Evo + Vets), although you may ride as many classes on the day as you can afford for trophies. I must point out though that due to the popularity of the series, you must get your entries returned to the club secretaries as soon as you receive the entry forms in February, as the early rounds always tend to be over subscribed. All our events are run by IOPD, ORPA or ACU affiliated clubs and therefore annual or day licences will be required. At the time of going to press, annual licences available from club secretaries cost approximately; We are still on the lookout for sponsors, who would be made most welcome, and they can contact Geoff Shuttleworth for details. Finally, if you have any questions on the above please do not hesitate to ask, and lets have another cracking twinshock season in 2009. Geoff Shuttleworth 01524-824409 (Home), 01524-863853 (
